FM & BMS

Facilities Management (FM) and Building Management Systems (BMS) and Fire Detection are areas that involve ever increasing numbers of items to be processed and managed. And now, on top of the traditional building management challenges, there is the whole new IoT ecosystem and the Building Information Model (BIM) approach to factor into the equation. At Codra, our task is to unite all of these components into a single robust, intuitive and sustainable platform, with one overriding goal: to maximise efficiency of usage on a day to day basis.

Tertiary & Industrial

Historically, in buildings, SCADA was mainly used to manage HVAC.
Today, Panorama applications make it possible to collect and analyze a much broader set of data generated by multiple systems: lighting, water, energy consumption, LV / HV networks, lifts, access control, etc. This extended management capability is making it possible to transform traditional structures into connected buildings that are more pleasant to live in, more economical and – in a word – smarter.

Health

Hospitals, clinics, retirement homes, health spas, fire and rescue stations, medical research laboratories, etc., are all such infrastructures dedicated to serving our short and long-term health and wellbeing. In order to ensure the highest quality service, they rely on management systems that are durable and robust in the face of cyber-attacks. One of the major challenges is therefore to equip these infrastructures with reliable SCADA systems to ensure flawless service continuity, both in times of crisis and in day-to-day situations.
Many systems are controlled by SCADA applications that may be either local or themselves converge into a more global Hypervision system. This applies to Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) that control power supplies and backup generators, fire detection systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS). The latter controls air flows inside buildings in order to condition and recycle air in these facilities, while limiting airborne transmissions. A BMS is also effective in combating Legionnaires’ disease, for instance, by delivering healthy water at the right temperature to avoid any contamination. These types of issues are addressed in parallel with the management of energy efficiency, a key to limiting the carbon footprint of these essential service infrastructures.

Sport Complex & Show Halls

The specific nature of a sports complex such as a stadium compared to a tertiary building is the very large number of people it can accommodate and the very high level of security it demands.
The key to addressing the vital security aspects is to offer Hypervision for all the critical systems, including access control, CCTV and PA systems, in addition to conventional BMS functionality. Other specific requirements are entailed by the venue’s intended sporting or cultural activity. This may be the need to control special lighting (to promote uniform turf growth / pitch quality, etc.) or the retractable part of the ground surface for transformation into a stage area.

Datacenters

In a Datacentre, the challenge is to enable operators to optimize their data infrastructures through a better understanding of the performance of the facilities in question.
SCADA solutions developed with Panorama serve as a foundation for implementing Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM). This serves to monitor and optimize power consumption and cooling within the facilities. It also typically includes advanced features for managing IT assets such as optimizing server resources within the available rack space factoring in electrical power and cooling capacity.

Energy Efficiency

In industrialized countries, the building sector accounts for around 50% of total energy consumption. Improving the comfort and overall productivity of buildings is set to impact significantly on the energy performance and quality of life of millions of users.
The Panorama SCADA Platform can be considered as the digital backbone of this energy transition. It makes it possible to control installations in real time, natively converging data from PLCs, remote terminals (RTUs) and connected objects within a single application. Data is then compiled and analyzed in a suitable reporting tool, so that it becomes straightforward to produce energy balance reports for each building or installation in record time. What’s more, building managers can easily identify precise returns on investment (ROI) and therefore make informed decisions in terms of future efficiencies and energy savings.
