CODRA will be exhibiting at Power & Energy Tanzania 2024 from 25 to 27 September. This event addresses the key issues facing the energy sector in East Africa and beyond. Access to energy, energy transition, digital transformation – these are the key themes that will be at the heart of the conferences and discussions at the show. The event brings together professionals and technical experts in the sector, from electricity and energy production to distribution and transport.
On stand B186, CODRA will be presenting its Panorama SCADA platform, designed to help energy industry players operate and optimise their facilities.
Useful information:
- Dates: 25 to 27 September 2024
- Venue: Diamond Jubilee Expo Center (DJEC) Dar es Salaam – Tanzania

SCADA & Smart Grid
Electricity needs to be managed from production to distribution and transmission. With this in mind, the smart grid is developing to include sensors, communication systems and advanced management technologies to monitor and control energy flows in real time.
The Panorama platform is used as a command and control system throughout the electricity value chain.
It enables real-time SCADA of the various infrastructures at one or more sites.
The independent, interoperable solution complies with the IEC 61850 standard and the security requirements of critical systems such as electricity networks.
SCADA & fossil energies
In Africa, fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, coal) are still very much a part of the energy mix and represent a significant proportion of the continent’s economy.
The Panorama platform enables real-time monitoring of the extraction, transformation and distribution processes for these fossil fuels. With a view to energy efficiency, the solution also helps to improve the energy consumption of installations by identifying opportunities for improvement: reducing operating costs, correcting consumption drifts, etc.
Renewable energy management
To overcome its dependence on fossil fuels, Africa is turning to renewable solutions such as wind, solar and geothermal energy.
The Panorama platform is used to SCADA renewable energy production units. It is used to calculate indicators for the maintenance, operation and yield of installations.
To go even further, a centralised Integrated SCADA solution provides an overall view of different sites by bringing together all the heterogeneous data from field equipment, business systems and local SCADA systems. With a global view of installations, maintenance and operation are made easier.
Case study: Integrated SCADA solution to improve energy performance
Eiffage Energie Systèmes has chosen the Panorama solution to provide real-time SCADA for 186 energy production sites (renewable energies and natural gas) using a single tool. Panorama Integrated SCADA solution enables this energy company to monitor all its remote sites and optimise their energy performance. Operators can use a video wall to view cogeneration, hydroelectricity and photovoltaic activities, with a detailed view of each production centre (history, alarms, maintenance actions, etc.).
CODRA is committed to working with you to meet the energy transition challenges on the African continent. At Power & Energy, our team will be on hand to answer your questions, run a demo and provide customised solutions.
